Minneapolis mayor to ICE: "Get the fuck out"

"Get the fuck out of Minneapolis", is the city's mayor Jacob Frey's message to ICE after the immigration police shot and killed a 37-year-old American woman.

- We demand that ICE leave the city immediately, he adds.

At a press conference, Frey says that the woman was legally at the scene and that the ICE agent's actions were "reckless". He also rejects Homeland Security's information that the agent acted in self-defense.

In recent days, ICE has carried out several raids against migrants in the city, which has created chaotic scenes and violence, Frey says.

Woman in Minneapolis shot dead by ICE agent

An agent from the American immigration police ICE has shot and killed a woman who was driving a car in Minneapolis, American media reports. The incident reportedly occurred during a raid by the agency against migrants.

The US Department of Homeland Security confirms the fatal shooting. Agency spokeswoman Tricia McLaughlin says the agent acted in self-defense after the woman tried to run over ICE personnel.

Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O'Hara says the woman was shot in the face.

Witnesses at the scene say they heard three shots and that the woman's car was surrounded by ICE, reports CBS. The woman also reportedly received CPR at the scene, according to witnesses.

The shooting is being investigated by the FBI and the Minnesota police.

Donald Trump: "ICE agent acted in self-defense"

The immigration police officer who shot and killed the 37-year-old woman in Minneapolis acted in "self-defense," writes President Donald Trump on Truth Social. He also shared a video of the incident, claiming that the woman “intentionally” ran over the ICE agent.

“The reason these incidents are happening is because the radical left is threatening, attacking, and targeting our police officers and ICE agents on a daily basis,” he added.

Minnesota Governor Tim Walz also harshly criticized the Trump administration, accusing it of spreading lies. The comments come after the White House released a statement accusing the dead woman of committing “domestic terrorism.”

“I’ve seen the video. Don’t believe this propaganda machine,” Walz wrote on X.

The circumstances surrounding the shooting are unclear and are under investigation by the FBI.
