Venezuelan parliament condemns Maduro's arrest

The Venezuelan parliament condemns the arrest of the country's president Nicolás Maduro. Politicians give their full support to interim president Delcy Rodríguez, who has now been formally sworn in.
Over the weekend, Maduro and his wife Cilia Flores were taken away by US forces. When the Venezuelan parliament met on Monday, what happened was condemned.
- The US president, Mr. Trump, claims to be the world's prosecutor, judge and policeman, said Fernando Soto Rojas, a senior member.
The parliament gave its full support to interim president Delcy Rodríguez, who was sworn in before parliament. One of the members supporting her is Maduro's son, Nicolás Maduro Guerra.
- Count on me, count on my family, he said.
Delcy Rodríguez's brother, Jorge Rodríguez, was re-elected as president. He promised to explore all possibilities to bring Maduro back.
Delcy Rodríguez has previously stressed that the US actions in Venezuela violate international law. She has since called on Washington to cooperate with Venezuela.
