Kishida on the rearmament: "Could be the next Ukraine"
Japan has had a pacifist constitution since the end of World War II – now Fumio Kishida is ushering the country into a more forward-looking global role. This is written by Time Magazine, which interviewed the Prime Minister.
Critics have pointed out that the military buildup Kishida initiated in December - the largest since World War II - could add fuel to an already flammable security situation in the region. But Kishida believes that the only goal is to prevent tragedies like Hiroshima from happening again.

Zelenskyi in Rome - to meet Pope Francis
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyi landed in Rome this morning and was welcomed by Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani, Italian media write.
Over a thousand police officers are on site to guard the quick search, security measures that are far superior to the state visits from the United States and China in recent years, writes Corriere della Sera. According to TT, snipers have been placed on tall buildings to guarantee the president's safety. Zelenskyy will meet Italian President Sergio Mattarella and Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, but before that he will meet Pope Francis.
On Twitter, Zelensky describes the visit as important for "getting closer to Ukrainian victory".
