Two close associates of the ex-president arrested
Two close associates of Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro - Mauro Cid and Max Guilherme - have been arrested by federal police in connection with a major investigation into falsified vaccination records, writes Reuters.
According to the police's suspicions, a register has been manipulated so that unvaccinated people could obtain vaccination certificates. According to the newspaper O Globo, among others, Bolsonaro and his family members must have falsified information, which made it possible for them to travel into the United States.
According to the newspaper, traveling into the United States with the help of forged vaccine certificates can lead to ten years in prison.
During Wednesday, several house searches were carried out, including in Bolsonaro's home. The ex-president has not yet commented on the data.
