New attacks on Israel after reports of ceasefire
State Egyptian media reported that Israel and Palestine agreed to an immediate ceasefire, but shortly after the news was published, new rockets were fired at Israel, AP writes.
A Hamas source told Haaretz that the group is ready for a ceasefire and is trying to persuade Islamic Jihad to agree to lay down its weapons. Israel's Foreign Minister Eli Cohen says the country is considering a ceasefire.
Israel's military has recently carried out several attacks on the Gaza Strip in which at least 21 people have died. The BBC reports that Islamic Jihad has fired around 270 rockets at Israel.

One person has died after Israel's military carried out new attacks on the Gaza Strip, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health, according to AFP. Israel confirms that it carried out a rocket attack against Islamic Jihad.
According to the Israeli military, they also fired at people "who were on their way to a rocket launch site in the city of Khan Yunis in southern Gaza".
