US ambassador accuses South Africa of Russian arms deal
The US ambassador to South Africa, Reuben Brigety, accuses the country of having sold weapons to Russia, AFP reports with reference to local media.
- Arming Russians is extremely serious, he says.
He says he is certain that South Africa delivered weapons to a Russian ship in Cape Town last December. When asked how much he trusts the information coming from the American intelligence service, he answers:
- I could bet my life on it.
The country's President Cyril Ramaphosa says he has asked his government to look more closely at the data, Reuters reports.

The British send "Storm Shadow" to Ukraine
Britain is sending cruise robots of the "Storm Shadow" type to Ukraine ahead of the expected counteroffensive, Defense Minister Ben Wallace confirms.
The robots have a range of 250 kilometers and represent new long-distance capabilities for Ukraine.
A source previously told CNN that the robots can reach far into Russian-controlled territory in eastern Ukraine, but that the British have received guarantees that Ukraine will not use them against Russia's own territories.
One of the sources called it a "game changer" for Ukraine in terms of reach. Weapons that Ukraine received from the US reach a maximum of barely 80 kilometers.
The Kremlin has commented on the information that Russia's military will give an "adequate response".

Sweden target for Russian spy program "Snake"
Sweden has been one of several targets for the Russian spy program "Snake" which the American FBI recently succeeded in busting, reports SVT Nyheter.
Säpo's spokesperson Fredrik Hultgren-Friberg says that they have known about the program for some time, but he does not want to go into which targets in Sweden are possibly affected.
- In general, Russia is one of the countries that carry out cyber attacks against Sweden. They invest large resources and have a high ability to carry out electronic attacks, he says.
According to the FBI, the program has been used for over 20 years to steal secrets from at least 50 countries.
