Ukraine doubts Trump's words about a quick end to the war
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyi is skeptical that Donald Trump, if he becomes American president again, would succeed in ending the war in 24 hours. That's what CNN writes.
Zelenskyy says that Ukraine was already attacked during Trump's time in power, as the Crimean Peninsula and parts of Donbas were already occupied.
- I don't know if he was deeply involved in the matter, but he did not solve that problem.
Zelenskyy further says that he is not putting any blame on Trump, but that he is only stating the facts.
It was in a CNN interview this week that Trump said he would succeed in stopping the war within a day. He did not want to answer which side he would prefer to be victorious.

Analysis: Now Zelensky has forgiven Germany Ukrainian President Zelensky's meeting with his German counterpart Frank-Walter Steinmeier sends an important signal: Kyiv has forgiven Berlin for its pro-Russia policy, writes DN's Lovisa Herold in an analysis.
In Germany, Steinmeier has represented the idea that close relations with Russia can create peace - now an epochal shift has taken place in German defense policy, Herold writes, but adds at the same time:
"As long as the war continues, the German government will walk the balance between Volodymyr Zelenskyi's and the anxious population's expectations."
The countries' relationship has improved drastically since Kyiv turned down a visit by Steinmeier last spring - not least since the new Defense Minister Boris Pistorius took office, writes Christoph Hasselbach for DW.
Hasselbach quotes the political scientist Henning Hoff, who states that in Pistorius, Germany has a defense minister who "very clearly states that the goal is Ukrainian victory" and ensured that the Leopard 2 tanks were quickly and smoothly delivered to Ukraine.

Zelenskyy makes an unexpected stop at Macron's in Paris
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy unexpectedly visits Paris on Sunday evening, AP writes. There he will have dinner with President Emmanuel Macron. According to the French presidential office, Macron will reaffirm Europe's unwavering support for Ukraine.
The closest Zelenskyy comes from a meeting with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz in Berlin, where the planned Ukrainian counter-offensive was discussed.
Before that, Zelenskyy visited Rome where he met with Pope Francis and Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni.

Zelenskyy: We are not attacking Russian territory
Ukrainian President Zelensky dismisses reports that attacks in Russia were on the table.
- We are not attacking Russian territory. We are liberating our own rightful territory, he says during a press conference in Germany according to AP.
The Washington Post has published leaked intelligence that Zelenskyi would have considered attacks in Russia in internal conversations with his advisers. But it has never been an issue, he claims according to AP.
- We have neither time nor strength (to attack Russia). And we don't have the weapons to spare to do it either.
