Russian robot violated Polish airspace - attacks on Kyiv

Ukraine's capital Kyiv was attacked on Sunday morning with, among other things, cruise missiles fired from Russian aircraft, Ukrainian authorities said.

“Explosions in the capital. The air defense works. Do not leave the shelters,” mayor Vitaly Klitschko wrote on Telegram early Sunday morning.

No one is said to have been injured in the attacks, which also did not cause any "major material damage", according to Ukrainian authorities.

The Polish Air Force says one of the Russian robots made it two kilometers into Polish airspace before returning to Ukraine, prompting the Air Force to "activate" its aircraft.

- Polish airspace is now safe, no more robot attacks against Ukraine are currently underway, says a spokesperson for the Polish army on Sunday morning, according to Reuters.

Poland demands explanation from Russia after violation

Poland will demand an explanation from Russia after a Russian cruise robot again violated Polish airspace early Sunday morning, AFP reports.

- But above all, we ask Russia to stop the terrorist attacks against the people and territory of Ukraine, to end the war and to focus on the country's own internal problems, says Pawel Wronski, spokesperson at Poland's Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

At least twice before, Russian robots have been on the Polish side of the border with Ukraine.

"The object entered Polish airspace near the town of Oserdow and stayed there for 39 seconds," writes the Polish Defense Forces on X.
