Military sources: Poor planning before the Rafah attack
The Israeli attack on the Rafah refugee camp that killed over 40 people was the result of poor planning and inadequate intelligence. This is stated by Israeli military sources for Haaretz.
According to the Israeli army IDF, two bombs were fired at the refugee camp. The target was two Hamas leaders who were in a shed in the camp. The bombs caused a fire, according to the IDF, because one of Hamas' weapons caches was hit.
Haaretz sources state that the bombs would have caused civilian casualties, albeit to a lesser extent, even if the fire had not broken out. It is also said that Israel had not checked whether there were civilians in the sheds adjacent to the shed where the Hamas members are believed to have been.

Netanyahu: Biden's version of the deal is incomplete
Israel is willing to enter the first phase of the ceasefire agreement presented by Joe Biden on Friday. But what comes after that is still a matter of negotiation. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu reportedly said this at a meeting in the Knesset on Monday.
- The proposal that Biden presented is incomplete, Netanyahu said according to the Times of Israel's sources.
The first phase of the agreement involves a six-week ceasefire during which Hamas will release an unspecified number of hostages. During the second phase, the parties will negotiate with the goal of reaching a permanent ceasefire.
