Expert: Probably North Korea's elite forces deployed
Hundreds of North Korean soldiers, disguised to mimic minority groups from Siberia, have been filmed at military bases in eastern Russia. This is reported by the Financial Times, which writes that the videos have been published by the South Korean intelligence service.
According to information, up to 12 000 North Koreans are being trained in Russia and are expected to be deployed in battle in Russia's Kursk, which is partially besieged by Ukraine.
Ukraine states that the first North Korean soldiers have already been deployed. North Korea expert Niklas Swanström tells Expressen that it is likely the country's special forces are involved.
– Paratroopers and hunters. It is "top of the line" of what North Korea has to offer, he says, adding that it remains to be seen how effective they are.

Vladimir Putin does not deny the information about North Korea
Russian President Vladimir Putin does not deny that North Korean soldiers are being prepared for battle against Ukraine, Reuters reports.
At a press conference at the ongoing BRICS meeting, Putin says Russia is in "contact with its North Korean friends."
- It is up to us how we implement the agreement, he says.
He then turned the blame on the West, which he says has contributed to the escalation of the situation by sending weapons to Ukraine.

Putin welcomes Trump's comments on Ukraine
Russian President Vladimir Putin welcomes Donald Trump's "sincere" comments about ending the war in Ukraine, reports AFP.
- He talks about doing anything to end the conflict in Ukraine. Of course we welcome such comments, regardless of who utters them, says Putin at a press conference.
It is unclear exactly which comment Putin is referring to. Among other things, Trump has said that he could end the war in Ukraine in a day, hinted that it is Kyiv that is responsible for the invasion of Ukraine and he is reported to have said that Ukraine must make territorial concessions in order to achieve peace.
However, Trump has also said that he has a "very good" relationship with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyi.

Zelensky's t-shirt makes Russian Foreign Ministry see red: "Damn ass"
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky's t-shirt makes Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zacharova see red.
In his daily video on Wednesday evening, the Ukrainian president talked, among other things, about the difficult situation on the front. In the video, he was wearing a t-shirt with the text "Make Russia small again".
Zacharova did not care at all about the situation at the front, but put all her might into criticizing Zelenskyi's choice of clothing.
“Oh, I see! A bit like Kievrus. In that case, we need Kyiv. You said it yourself, you damn ass," she writes in a post on the department's social media.
Kievan Rus was a medieval kingdom, the forerunner of modern Russia, with Kyiv as its capital.
