A former spokesperson for the US government, also the wife of one of Donald Trump's closest associates, has posted a picture of Greenland where the large island has been draped in the colors of the American flag.

"Soon," writes former spokesperson Katie Miller when she publishes the picture on X.

Miller's post has sparked reactions on social media, where several million users have seen it and several thousand have commented on it.

It is also sparking reactions in Denmark, of which Greenland is a part. Donald Trump has repeatedly stated that Greenland should become part of the United States, which Denmark has repeatedly rejected. The Danish ambassador to the United States, Jesper Møller Sørensen, responds to X:

“Just a friendly reminder about the relationship between the United States and the Kingdom of Denmark: We are close allies and should continue to work together as such. The security of the United States is also the security of Greenland and Denmark.”

Katie Miller was also an advisor to multi-billionaire Elon Musk last year when he was given executive powers by President Trump. After that, she started her own conservative media project aimed at the so-called Maga movement in the United States.

She is married to Trump’s deputy chief of staff Stephen Miller.
