Altman on AI: Humans are threatened - laws must be introduced
The leadership of Open AI is calling on the world to introduce laws and regulations to maintain control over the development of super-intelligent AI, The Guardian reports. CEO Sam Altman and his colleagues believe that a body equivalent to the IAEA, the International Atomic Energy Agency, is needed to protect humanity from being crushed by an overly powerful AI.
Among other things, they want the control body to "inspect systems, require revisions and carry out tests to see how safety standards are complied with".
The company predicts that within ten years the world will see AI systems that are more competent than experts in most fields.

Microsoft launches personal AI assistant for Windows
Microsoft has announced that artificial intelligence will now become an important part of the Windows 11 operating system. This is because the AI concept Copilot - which is already in the Office suite - is now also being launched for Windows 11. The Verge reports.
The AI tool is located in the side menu and offers a chat interface that is deeply integrated with the operating system. For example, it is possible to ask Copilot to perform tasks such as activating night mode or changing the desktop background, without the user having to navigate to a specific menu or folder.
Copilot can also be used to summarize documents, or start an app and edit documents before sending them to others.
A preview version of Copilot for Windows will be rolled out in June.
