Got scared by road sign - shot dead Uber driver
When 48-year-old Phoebe Copas in El Paso, USA, saw "Juárez, Mexico" on a road sign, she got scared and thought her Uber driver was about to kidnap her.
She took a gun out of her purse and fired several shots at 52-year-old Daniel Piedra in the driver's seat, the Washington Post reports.
The car ran into a median barrier before coming to a stop. Copas took pictures of the driver's lifeless body and sent the pictures to her boyfriend before calling 911. When the police arrived, the boyfriend was helping her out of the damaged car.
Juárez and El Paso are neighboring cities, separated by the Rio Grande River. According to police, Piedra drove a regular route to get to the El Paso casino Copas was going to.
The driver, who had been working for Uber for three weeks, died in hospital after his family opted out of putting him on a ventilator for life.

Nasa is working on Chat GPT-like assistant for astronauts
Nasa has a new system under development that will allow astronauts to perform maneuvers, perform experiments and more using a Chat GPT-like interface. The Guardian reports.
According to researcher Larissa Suzuki, the goal is for the astronauts to be able to hold conversations with the spacecraft and for the spacecraft (both manned and unmanned) to also be able to report any findings or errors, writes The Guardian.
Nasa's ambition is for the system to be launched with the Lunar Gateway space station.
