At Ban Koh Lan community, Village No. 7, Na Kluea Subdistrict, Bang Lamung District, Chonburi Province, it has accumulated more than 70,000 tonnes of rubbish that affects many aspects, especially the environment and tourism.
Since 2013, waste has been accumulating in Ban Koh Lan, and it could not be loaded onto a boat to Pattaya City's shore because the old transport ship was in poor condition.
The Deputy Mayor of Pattaya City, Manoch Nongyai, disclosed the results of the problem-solving meeting in this week between officials from the Legal Division, the Procurement Division, and the Environment Division, and that they would build two waste incinerators with the capacity to burn 25 tonnes of waste per day each, for a total of 50 tonnes per day. It is anticipated that all residual garbage will be eliminated within three to five years.
