Ex-prosecutor: Audio recording strong evidence against Trump
The recording of Donald Trump allegedly talking about a classified document could provide "even stronger" evidence against the former president than what is included in the federal indictment against him. This is stated by former prosecutor Andrew Weissman, writes Newsweek.
In the 2021 audio recording, Trump is said to be discussing his possession of classified Pentagon documents about a potential attack on Iran with some guests at his New Jersey golf resort.
Trump is accused of keeping hundreds of documents after he left the White House in January 2021, and according to information, the trial is expected to begin on August 14 of this year.

Trump in audio recording: "Here are the papers"
In an audio recording from 2021 obtained by CNN, former US President Donald Trump is said to be discussing his possession of sensitive Pentagon documents.
In the recording, which CNN claims is from July 2021, Trump is heard talking to people at his resort in New Jersey. He says "here are the papers" and refers to classified documents about a potential attack on Iran.
To Fox News, Trump has said that it was not about any classified documents at all, but that it was just "a huge amount of paper and other stuff".
The audio recording is said to be an important piece of evidence in the indictment that is now directed against Trump.
The former president has been charged with keeping highly classified documents at Mar-a-Lago. He is also suspected of showing them to unauthorized persons and then trying to obstruct the FBI's investigation.
