Many families have now been left homeless as many tents around the high-rise building have been destroyed.

Protests
Protest in Uddevalla is cancelled – Musk shared clip

A video of an assault during a Palestine demonstration in Uddevalla on August 30 has been widely circulated online and was shared by, among others, Elon Musk.

Now the organizer Palestine Solidarity, which has held demonstrations every Saturday for two years, has chosen to pause them. DN reports.

– We don't want another incident [...] We want to talk about Gaza, but now all the focus is on the assault, says contact person Kenneth Johansson.

In the clip, a local handball player is seen being dragged to the ground. According to the association, he suffered a concussion and had to have his face stitched up. A man in his 30s has been arrested on suspicion of aggravated assault.

Israel-Hezbollah

Lebanon begins process to disarm Hezbollah

The Lebanese army will move forward with the process to disarm Hezbollah, the government announced, according to AFP.

During Friday's cabinet meeting, five Shiite ministers, belonging to Hezbollah and its allies in the Amal Movement, left the discussions in protest.

According to the government, the disarmament is part of the US-brokered ceasefire with Israel that began last November. However, Hezbollah has opposed the plan and states that it intends to keep its weapons.

The US-written documents present a plan and method for gradually disarming the group, after which Israel is to withdraw from Lebanon.
