Trump could face pressure if the government shuts down
Democratic senators in the US Congress are increasingly bracing for another government shutdown this week. This is to send an important political signal to Donald Trump, strategists and officials in the party tell Politico.
According to the frustrated Democrats, drastic measures are needed to cheer up their own depressed voters and the budget issue may be exactly what the party needs.
Senate Democratic leader Chuck Schumer says he thinks the pressure has had some effect. Last week, a meeting between the president and Democrats was canceled, but after a weekend of stubborn resistance from the Democrats, a meeting will be held during the day.
– It doesn't happen that just one party puts together a proposal and then says 'this or nothing.' You negotiate, he told NBC's 'Meet the Press' yesterday.

Trump's Argentina Support Upsets Republicans
Donald Trump's promise to provide an economic lifeline of $20 billion to Argentina has angered some supporters in the president's own Republican camp, according to the Washington Post.
The move is particularly notable because Trump's policy has always been about "America First" and so far during his term in office, aid to other countries has been cut significantly. The aid is not about Argentina being an economic heavyweight internationally or that the economic ties between the countries are strong; rather, the aid seems to be due to Trump's liking of Argentine President Javier Milei.
Milei is a hard-line libertarian who, like Trump, has directed scathing criticism at government spending.

Trump Repeats Threat of 100 Percent Film Tariffs
Donald Trump will impose tariffs on all films produced outside the United States, he writes on Truth Social. The reason is that the American film industry has been “stolen from the United States, by other countries, just like you steal ‘candy from a child,’” the president writes.
Back in May, Donald Trump stated that he would impose 100 percent tariffs on foreign films.
Clear: Electronic Arts is being bought out in a huge deal
Video game giant Electronic Arts is being bought out of the stock market by a Saudi-backed consortium put together by American businessman Jared Kushner and venture capital giant Silver Lake, according to a press release.
The bid of $210 per share values the company at $55 billion, equivalent to 515 billion kronor. This corresponds to a premium of 25 percent compared to EA’s closing price on Thursday before the news began to leak.
The deal needs to be approved by competition authorities and EA’s shareholders’ meeting to go through.
