Trump: US to help with security guarantees
The US will help Ukraine with security guarantees when the war is over. Donald Trump says this in an interview with Fox News after his visit to the UK. The program's host Martha MacCallum addressed the president's statement about helping Ukraine "over the air" last month.
- When I said "over the air" I meant security after the war. When the war ends, we will help secure peace, he says.
Trump also expressed optimism about the peace negotiations between Ukraine and Russia.
- We will solve it, one way or another, he says.
MI6: There is no evidence that Putin wants peace
There
is no evidence whatsoever that Putin wants to negotiate peace in
Ukraine. This is what Richard Moore, head of the British intelligence
service MI6, said in a speech in Turkey.
– He is trying to push
through his imperialist will with all the means at his disposal, he
says, according to the AP news agency.
Moore also mentioned that
Britain is conducting a new spy effort on the dark web. He urged
Russians who want to be recruited to contact MI6 there.
The world's response
Ambassador: Denmark threatens Russia with Bornholm
Vladimir Barbin, Russian ambassador to Denmark, accuses the country of using the island of Bornholm to threaten Russia.
– Bornholm has been an island of peace for many years, and even during the Cold War the island was not a place for military preparations, which contributed to the stability of the Baltic Sea region, he says in an interview with the state-run Russian news agency Tass.
He does not give any examples of how Bornholm poses a threat to Russia. Earlier this week, the Danish government announced that it would acquire long-range weapons in response to the threat from Russia.

ISW: Russia threatens Finland in the same way as Ukraine
Russia has launched a “coordinated information campaign” against Finland and the rhetoric is reminiscent of that used before the invasion of Ukraine. This is what the American think tank ISW writes in its daily report on the war.
ISW highlights, among other things, a quote from Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov who claims that revanchism is “on the rise” in Finland. Politicians Sergei Ivanov and Alexei Chepa claim that the Finnish population is dissatisfied with the government and that reduced Russian tourism leads to a reduced population and a worse economy.
All statements have received significant coverage in the state-controlled media. The approach and statements are reminiscent of those used to initiate the war in Ukraine, according to the think tank.
Western intelligence agencies disagree on drones
Western intelligence agencies have been unable to determine whether the Russian violation of Polish airspace last week was intentional or not, CNN reports.
Several European countries, including Poland and Ukraine, are convinced that Poland was the target of the Russian drones. Other NATO countries are not as convinced, according to the channel. A source within the US military assesses the probability that Russia intentionally violated Polish airspace as “50–50”.
Although the intelligence agencies have not reached a conclusion, the Russian violation is serious, another source states.
- Something has definitely changed in the Kremlin's thinking about risks when choosing its targets.
