The shooting in a Mormon church in Michigan in the United States is part of a targeted attack on US Christians, writes Donald Trump on Truth Social. His post was published before the police spoke out about the photo.

At least two people were killed and several are critically injured after the shooting. The shooter is also dead.

Over 100 people were in the church at the time of the attack

Hundreds of people were in the church in Michigan when the shooter rammed the building with a car and opened fire, according to Police Chief William Reyne according to the AP. The shooter, a 40-year-old man, started a fire in connection with the attack.

According to Reyne, the man left the building after shooting several people. Two police officers intervened and killed him.

The police have not yet commented on the motive behind the shooting. On Sunday, authorities will conduct a search of the man's home to look for possible motives. He is said to have lived in the neighboring town of Burton. It is still unclear whether the man was a member of the church.
