Russian planes have violated Estonian airspace

Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson (M) calls the incident "very alarming"
"This incident, as well as other recent Russian violations of NATO countries' airspace, illustrates once again the seriousness of the Russian threat to European security and that our and NATO's preparedness is constantly being tested," he writes.
The Russian Air Force has violated Estonian airspace. This is reported by Reuters and refers to NATO sources, among others.
The Estonian government then confirmed in a statement that three Russian fighter jets violated the airspace for 12 minutes.

Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson (M) comments on the incident.“The Swedish Air Force has constant incident preparedness to handle events like this. As a NATO member, Sweden stands in solidarity with our allies and contributes to the security of our immediate area,” he writes in a press release.
Kaja Kallas, former Prime Minister of Estonia and now the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, writes on X that this is the third violation by Russia in a short time.
“Putin is testing the resolve of the West. We must not show weakness,” she writes further.
“Unprecedentedly brazen”
According to Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsakhna, Russia has violated Estonian airspace four times in total in 2025.“But today’s violation, with three fighter jets entering our airspace, is unprecedentedly brazen,” he said, according to The Independent.
According to Estonian defense authorities, the fighter jets’ transponders were turned off and there was no contact with Estonian air traffic control.

After the incident, the Estonian Foreign Ministry summoned the Russian chargé d’affaires.
