New drones over Danish defense facilities

Drones have also been observed over several Danish defense facilities during the night of Sunday. The Danish defense writes this on its website, in a short post.

It also states that several resources were deployed and no further comments will be made at this time.

At the same time, the Danish Defense Minister Troels Lund Poulsen announces that Germany will help Denmark with equipment to combat drones, writes TT.

“I want to thank Germany for the help, which strengthens our drone defense and is an expression of close Danish-German cooperation,” he writes on X.

Denmark bans civil drone flights

Denmark bans civil drone flights from tomorrow until Friday evening, says Transport Minister Thomas Danielsen to DR. The ban therefore applies during the upcoming EU summit in Copenhagen.

– It is being introduced to give the police peace of mind and to be able to focus on the major task of handling the summit correctly, says Danielsen.

The drone incidents in Denmark continued during the night towards Sunday when drones were observed at several defense facilities. TV2's defense correspondent Anders Lomholt says that the events are similar to the "systematic actions" that hit the country earlier this week.

The actions are probably aimed at exposing weaknesses in Denmark's defense, he says. The image of the Armed Forces as a deterrent has taken a serious hit.

– It is not so deterrent that drones can fly over our most sensitive areas, he tells his own channel.

Diana Magnay at Sky News writes about both the drones and the Russian violations of Estonian and Polish airspace.

“Russia is sending a clear warning that it can relatively easily weaken Europe’s defenses and that Europe would do best to focus on its own defense,” she writes.
