Donald Trump says Benjamin Netanyahu has agreed to his peace plan for Gaza.
Now only Hamas remains.
– Everyone else has accepted, Trump tells the press.
The meeting between Trump and Netanyahu was scheduled to begin at 17:00 Swedish time. Benjamin Netanyahu arrived a little late. His car arrived at the White House around 17:20 Swedish time.
He was met at the door by the American president.
Donald Trump has said for a long time that “a peace agreement is close”.
Shortly before the two leaders met the press, the White House released a 20-point peace plan for Gaza.
One point on the list was that Hamas must release Israeli hostages, regardless of whether they are dead or alive, within 72 hours.
Another point was that the Israeli military should withdraw according to a timetable set by the IDF, the US and other guarantor parties.
When the leaders meet the press after the meeting at 8:30 p.m., Donald Trump says that the leaders have discussed how to end the war in Gaza.

Trump begins by saying that the peace agreement is “more than very close.”
– This is possibly one of the greatest days ever in the history of civilization, he says.
Trump thanks Netanyahu and then praises leaders in Europe and the Middle East for good cooperation.
At the press conference, he says that the Israeli prime minister has agreed to the 20-point plan. Now only Hamas remains.
– I hope that we will have a peace agreement, and if Hamas rejects the agreement, which is always possible, they are the only ones left. Everyone else has accepted it. But I have a feeling we will get a positive response, says the American president.
If the group were to say no to the proposal, Israel has Donald Trump's full support to destroy Hamas.
When it is Benjamin Netanyahu's turn to speak, he begins by calling Trump the "best friend" Israel has had in the White House.
- I support your plan to end the war in Gaza, says Netanyahu.
The Israeli leader then says that all the hostages will be returned to Israel and that Gaza will be demilitarized.
