High-level meeting in Beijing
Analysis: Trump is driving his enemies into each other's arms
This week's high-level meeting in China may have been the beginning of a new world order where previously US-friendly countries are instead turning against Xi Jinping. This is the interpretation made by analysts in several world media.
The most notable thing was that Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi made his first visit to China in seven years. Trump's punitive tariffs against India seem to have driven the world's largest democracy into the arms of Xi Jinping, writes the New York Times.
Trump's anger towards India was reportedly aroused when Modi refused to nominate him for the Nobel Peace Prize.
"Trump is destroying the relationship with India for reasons that seem trivial and mostly about his own ego," writes the Financial Times' Gideon Rachman.
The alliance with China and India has also given Vladimir Putin new self-confidence, writes the BBC's Steve Rosenberg. Rosenberg was present in Vladivostok when Putin threatened to “destroy” Western forces if they enter Ukraine. The statement was met with loud applause in the hall.
“The applause was quite frightening.”

Major protests against the government in Serbia: “Resign”
Major government-critical protests were taking place on Friday in the city of Novi Sad, several media outlets report. Serbian police used tear gas and stun grenades to disperse the crowds, Reuters reports.
“We are so scared. We are protesting silently, but the police come with their pickup trucks and we have to run away, otherwise they will arrest us just for being present,” student Theodora tells SVT, who is present.
The protesters are demanding a new vote that they hope will oust President Aleksandar Vucic and his ruling Serbian Progressive Party (SNS).
Protests have been ongoing since November last year after 16 people died after a roof collapsed at a train station in the city.
Eleven police officers were injured in the clashes, according to Aleksandar Vucic, who accuses the protesters of threatening the security of the country. It is unclear how many protesters were injured.
Putin's Russia
Russia: Will strengthen the border with Finland
Vladimir Putin has ordered the strengthening of the border with Finland. This was announced by the deputy chairman of the Security Council Dmitry Medvedev, according to the Moscow Times.
Medvedev says that he recently visited the border, where he claims that Finland "is building all kinds of walls and barriers for full cups".
- We cannot ignore the fact that Finland is a member of NATO. This requires us to change our military arrangements on the border to counter potential unfriendly actions, he says.
Exactly how the border will be strengthened is not clear.
Trump's USA G20 Summit in Miami
Trump to host next G20 – at his golf club
The US will host the next G20 summit in Miami next year, Donald Trump says according to AFP. The venue will be the president's own golf club, Doral.
– Everyone wants it there because it's right by the airport. It's the best place, it's beautiful, he tells reporters.
At the same time, he says he will not attend this year's G20 summit in Johannesburg, South Africa in November, but will instead send Vice President JD Vance.
Trump adds that he "would love" if Vladimir Putin wanted to come. Putin missed last year's G20 summit in Brazil due to the arrest warrant from the ICC, and instead sent his Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.
