Philippine vice president to face impeachment
The Philippine House of Representatives overwhelmingly votes to impeach Vice President Sara Duterte, according to several media outlets.
The yes side won the vote by 255 votes to 26. Nine members abstained.
The charges include corruption, embezzlement of public funds and an alleged death threat against President Ferdinand Marcos.
If convicted by the Senate, Sara Duterte could be removed from office and banned from running in the 2028 presidential election.

Former Prime Minister Released from Thai Prison
Former Thai Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra has been released from prison, AFP reports.
The 76-year-old billionaire and his family have played a central role in Thai politics for decades, but have also been repeatedly accused of various crimes, several of which are still under investigation.
He is now expected to resume his political work.
“I went into hiding for eight months,” he tells supporters.
