Pentagon: Iran War Will Soon Cost $29 Billion
The cost of the Iran War is approaching $29 billion, or about 270 billion kronor, the US Department of Defense announced according to AFP.
The figure is the equivalent of 37 billion kronor higher than the preliminary price tag that Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth presented two weeks ago.
According to Pentagon CFO Jules Hurst, the increased costs are partly due to the need to repair and replace equipment.
Confirmed: Israel has lent “Iron Dome”
During the Iran War, Israel has placed parts of its “Iron Dome” air defense system in the United Arab Emirates. In this way, it has assisted the country in shooting down Iranian missiles. This was stated by US UN Ambassador Mike Waltz on Monday, reports AP.
Back in April, Axios reported that the Iron Dome had been deployed to the United Arab Emirates, but it has only now been officially confirmed. This is the first time that the air defense system has been sent to a country other than the United States.
UAE reportedly carried out secret attacks on Iran
The United Arab Emirates has attacked Iran, but the country has not publicly acknowledged it, sources with knowledge of the matter told the WSJ.
This includes an attack on an oil refinery on the Iranian island of Lavan, which took place in early April. Iran is said to have responded with missile and drone attacks on the United Arab Emirates and Kuwait, both of which are allies of the United States.
The UAE’s Foreign Ministry has chosen not to answer WSJ’s questions about the information.

The United Arab Emirates has attacked Iran in secret, sources with insight tell the American newspaper The Wall Street Journal.
This includes an attack on an oil refinery on the Iranian island of Jazireh-ye Lavan that was not publicly announced. It took place in early April, around the time the ceasefire was supposed to come into effect. Iran responded with missile and drone attacks.
The United Arab Emirates, which has been one of Iran's main targets during the war, has thus played a more active role than has been known. Neither the country's State Department nor the US defense headquarters, the Pentagon, want to comment on the information for The Wall Street Journal.
The wealthy Gulf state has a well-equipped military, equipped with Western fighter jets and radar systems.
