Trump: Iran Ceasefire “Unbelievably Weak”
US President Donald Trump says the Iran ceasefire is “unbelievably weak” after he rejected Iran’s proposal for a peace deal. The AP reports.
– I would call it really weak right now after reading that garbage they sent us. I didn’t even finish reading it, Trump tells reporters at the White House.
Trump rejected the proposal, among other things, because Iran refused to agree to dismantle its nuclear energy facilities.
Iran: Our peace proposal was legitimate and generous
Iran’s latest peace proposal to the United States was both generous and legitimate, a spokesman for the country’s Foreign Ministry says, according to Reuters.
– We didn’t demand any concessions. All we asked for was Iran’s legitimate rights.
The US has rejected the proposal, which included lifting the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz and Iranian ports and releasing frozen Iranian assets.
Donald Trump wrote last night on Truth Social that the proposal was “completely unacceptable”.
