Middle East Crisis

Iran War
Netanyahu: Wants to Reduce Our Dependence on US Support

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu wants to reduce US support for the country. In an interview with the CBS News program “60 Minutes,” he says he would like to see the extensive military support of the equivalent of SEK 35 billion per year end up at zero.

– And I have told President Trump that.

Netanyahu says he wants to start the cuts immediately and mentions the next ten years as a possible timeframe.

– I don’t want to wait for the next Congress. I want to start now.

Oil Market
Modi urges Indians to work from home during the oil crisis

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is urging people to cut back on their use of gasoline and diesel due to the oil shortage caused by the Iran war. This is reported by AFP.

– In cities with subways, we should try to travel by subway. If we have to drive, we should try to carpool, says Modi.

He also says that working from home and having meetings via link as during the pandemic should be prioritized.

India is one of the few countries in the region that has not rationed or increased the prices of petrol and diesel. However, the prices of LPG – which is used for cooking by many households and restaurants – have skyrocketed.

Peace Talks
Iran: Our Peace Proposal Was Legitimate and Generous

Iran's latest peace proposal to the United States was both generous and legitimate, a spokesman for the country's Foreign Ministry said, according to Reuters.

- We did not demand any concessions. All we requested was Iran's legitimate rights.

The United States has rejected the proposal, which included lifting the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz and Iranian ports and releasing frozen Iranian assets.

Donald Trump wrote last night on Truth Social that the proposal was "completely unacceptable".

Trump on Iran's response: Don't like it - completely unacceptable

US President Donald Trump has seen Iran's response to the US peace plan.

"I don't like it - completely unacceptable", he wrote in a post on Truth Social.

In its response, Iran proposes that some of the country's enriched uranium be sent to a third country. However, it refuses to agree to dismantle the nuclear energy facilities, according to sources to WSJ.

Otherwise, Iran emphasizes that the war must end on all fronts and wants the US to lift sanctions on Iranian oil for 30 days, according to the semi-state news agency Tasnim.
