Zelenskyy's former chief of staff suspected of corruption

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's former chief of staff has been named as a suspect in a major corruption investigation, Kyiv's anti-corruption agency said, according to Reuters.

The agency has not named the suspect. But according to sources to Kyiv Independent, it is Andriy Yermak, who resigned last year after a corruption scandal.

Yermak is suspected of being involved in a corruption scandal involving the state nuclear monopoly Energoatom. The equivalent of one billion kronor is believed to have been embezzled. Nine people have previously been charged with criminal offences related to the scandal. Several of them have been high-ranking politicians.

Over 60 party colleagues want Keir Starmer to resign

At least 62 Labour MPs want Keir Starmer to resign as party leader and British Prime Minister, The Telegraph reports.

Starmer is under heavy pressure after last week's disastrous results in the local elections and despite Monday morning's speech to the party, the number of party colleagues who want to see another leader has increased.

"Although the Prime Minister has achieved a lot, I believe it is time for an orderly plan for new leadership," writes MP Sarah Smith.

Mexico sends emergency aid to Cuba - but no oil

Mexico is sending a new shipment of emergency aid to Cuba, the country's President Claudia Sheinbaum announced according to AFP.

Cuba is experiencing an economic and humanitarian crisis that has worsened since the US imposed an oil blockade on the island nation. The island struggles with daily power outages and a lack of necessary equipment in hospitals.

According to Sheinbaum, the shipment to Cuba does not contain any oil.

In March, Mexico sent two ships with a total of 1,000 tons of humanitarian aid to Cuba.

Over 70 dead in airstrike on market in Nigeria

At least 72 people, most of them civilians, were killed in an airstrike on a market in Nigeria on Sunday, a local leader told AFP.

The attack was carried out by the Nigerian military, which says the market is controlled by criminal gangs.

According to Amnesty International, as many as 100 civilians may have been killed in the attack.
