The war in Ukraine may be coming to an end.
This is what Russian President Vladimir Putin says.
The statement was made during a meeting with journalists in Moscow.
It is unclear exactly what Putin means by his comment.
He also says that he will not meet Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyj about them until they have agreed on a long-term peace agreement.
The press conference was held at the same time as Russia celebrates "Victory Day" after World War II.
Temporary ceasefire
Putin was also asked if he would consider holding talks with Europe.
In that case, the president would have preferred to talk to former German Chancellor Gerhard Schröder, writes Reuters.
A temporary ceasefire is currently in place between Russia and Ukraine for three days, due to Victory Day. But both countries accuse each other of violating it.
