Mexico sends more emergency aid to Cuba

Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum announces that the country is sending additional emergency aid to Cuba.

– Today a ship with humanitarian aid is leaving for Cuba, Sheinbaum said at a press conference.

Cuba is suffering heavily under the US embargo and is in an increasingly deep economic and humanitarian crisis.

President Donald Trump has specifically urged Mexico not to export oil to the island nation and according to Sheinbaum, Monday's cargo does not contain any of that commodity.

– We are focusing on other humanitarian aid, she said.
