The assault on Mette Frederiksen
Mette Frederiksen assaulted in the open street - the Danish Prime Minister is "shocked"
Denmark's Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen was assaulted on an open street in central Copenhagen on Friday evening. A man hit her on the Kultorvet square, the government announced in a statement to the Ritzau news agency.
Frederiksen's condition is not clear, but the government states that the top social democratic politician is shocked. Otherwise, no further comments are to be made. Neither the Copenhagen police nor the Social Democrats want to comment on the incident, according to Danish media.
Frederiksen has recently campaigned with the party's top candidate Christel Schaldemose, but the assault is said not to have taken place in connection with her campaigning for Schaldemose.
The man is arrested. There is no information about who the perpetrator is or what his motive might be.

The charges against Hunter Biden
Biden: Will not pardon Hunter if convicted
Hunter Biden may be pardoned by his father Joe Biden if he is convicted of gun crimes. But President Joe Biden tells ABC News that he will not take advantage of that opportunity.
Biden is very tight-lipped about it all. When asked if he intends to accept the sentence against his son, he briefly answers "yes". When asked if it is out of the question to pardon him, he again answers "yes".
The interview then shifts focus to Donald Trump's accusations that the charges against him are politically motivated. Biden calls the outings an attempt to undermine the justice system.
- He got a fair trial. The jury had its say, says Biden.

Russian Invasion|Russian Reactions
Putin: "We don't need to use nuclear weapons"
Vladimir Putin boasted about Russia's nuclear arsenal at St Petersburg's annual economic forum on Friday - but made his strongest indication yet that he does not intend to use them, Reuters reports.
- We do not need to use nuclear weapons to secure victory, he said according to Reuters, referring to the invasion of Ukraine.
Russia's nuclear doctrine only allows the use of nuclear weapons if the country's "sovereignty and territorial integrity" are threatened, and according to Putin, that is not the case.
- But the doctrine is a living tool and we closely follow what is happening in the outside world and do not rule out changing the doctrine, he said.
