Biden wants to change the constitution - trying to end immunity for presidents
Biden has presented plans to reform the country's highest court, reports Reuters.
The proposal is partly about introducing a maximum limit for how long judges can sit, partly about changing the constitution to prohibit legal immunity for presidents.
“This nation was founded on a simple but important principle: No one is above the law. Not the President of the United States. Not a Supreme Court judge," Biden writes in the Washington Post.
Justices on the US Supreme Court are elected for life, and the court is currently controlled by conservative justices. According to a ruling in July, Donald Trump has legal immunity for the actions that were part of his mandate as president.

Chronicles: Harris needs a superhero team
Instead of picking just one vice presidential candidate, Kamala Harris should "borrow from the comic books" and put together a whole team. That's what columnist Daniel Pink writes in the Washington Post.
"That's the secret behind a victory in November: Harris' own American 'Justice League'".
According to Pink, a team led by Harris would have a better chance of defeating Trump and what he describes as the former president's "comic book megalomania."
In a column in the Los Angeles Times, Robin Abcarian writes that Harris' victory depends on a completely different group - childless women with cats.
Trump's running mate has described Harris as just that, something that Abcarian describes as an ill-conceived attack on both women and cat owners, both of which are two large constituencies.

Ex-astronaut is singled out as a strong vice-presidential candidate
A growing number of House Democrats want Kamala Harris to nominate Arizona Sen. Mark Kelly as her running mate. This is reported by Politico, which has interviewed 30 Democratic politicians.
A main reason is that Kelly - who previously served in the US Navy and as an astronaut - is known for his tough border policy. The policy site describes the border policy as perhaps Harris' biggest political weakness.
- He would add a lot of added value, says Democratic Texas politician Vicenete Gonzales, who so far has not wanted to stand behind Harris.
Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro also seems to have a lot of support within the party. Something that unites them is that both have won several elections in swing states.
