Everything points to the fact that it was a Hezbollah rocket that "accidentally" killed twelve children in the Israeli-annexed Golan Heights this weekend. That's what Aron Lund, Middle East analyst at the Total Defense Research Institute (FOI), told TT.
It is a mistake that can cost both Israel and the Hamas-allied, terrorist-classified militia group dearly, he continues. Because despite the fact that no party probably wants to see a major war in the Middle East, the risk of a full-scale conflict in the region is now acute again.
- I think this is a very serious situation, possibly the most serious since October 7, says Lund and continues:
- And this is what everyone has been afraid of. The mistake.
How Israel now chooses to respond to the attack could be decisive for how the conflict develops, Lund believes.

Billström's call: Leave Lebanon - risk of escalation
Foreign Minister Tobias Billström (M) urges Swedes who are in Lebanon to leave the country, TT reports.
"It is necessary for Swedes to leave Lebanon, or to refrain from going to the country in question," writes Billström in a comment to the news agency.
Should the conflict in the region escalate at short notice, there is a risk that Swedes will be stuck in the country, according to him.
"The state's opportunities to help in a crisis situation will be very small," writes Billström.
"The state's opportunities to help in a crisis situation will be very small," writes Billström. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs estimates that between 8,000 and 10,000 Swedes are in Lebanon during the summer at any given time.
