Several children killed in attack on the Golan Heights: "They have crossed all the red lines"
At
least ten people have been killed and around 30 are said to have been
injured in an attack on the town of Majdal Shams in the
Israeli-controlled Golan Heights. However, the information about the
dead and injured differs in different Israeli media.
The attack took place on a football pitch. Several of the victims are children between the ages of 10 and 20, writes Haaretz.
- Hezbollah has crossed all red lines, says Foreign Minister Israel Katz on Israeli television.
The
Lebanese terrorist group, however, denies and says that it has nothing
to do with the attack. It is unclear whether it is a rocket or drone
attack.
The attack is the deadliest on the northern border since the Gaza war began, according to the Times of Israel.
Prime
Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who is in the United States, has been
informed of the incident and is now assessing the situation, an Israeli
official said. At the same time, the Minister of Defense is sitting in a
meeting with various commanders of the IDF army, who are now said to be
planning how to take revenge.

Israel Vows Powerful Revenge: "Full Scale War Approaching"
Israel's defense force, the IDF, is preparing a powerful response against the Lebanese terrorist group Hezbollah after ten children and young people died in an attack on the Israeli-annexed Golan Heights.
- We are approaching the moment for a full-scale war against Hezbollah and Lebanon, Israel's Foreign Minister Israel Katz told Axios reporter Barak Ravid.
Hezbollah denies that it is behind the attack, while the IDF states that Hezbollah is lying and that it has proof. Lebanon's government condemns the act.
Daniel Hagari, spokesperson for the IDF. describing the attack as the most serious incident since Hamas' terrorist act on October 7. The Kan news site cites several Israeli sources, and one says:
- This is an event that we cannot gloss over. It will be a harsh response.
The Israeli television channel Kanal 12 quotes an anonymous Israeli source who is part of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's delegation in Washington. The source promises "a dramatic shift in the fighting in the area", according to the Times of Israel.
