Reform UK invites the former Home Secretary
The right-wing populist party Reform UK is trying to lure former Home Secretary Suella Braverman from the Conservative Party. The Telegraph reports.
- The party has lost all contact with the members. If she switched, she would probably take half of them with her, says Lee Andersson, former MP for the Conservative Party who switched to Reform UK.
Braverman unexpectedly announced last night that she is not running to become the next Tory leader.

Went towards election loss – politicians started companies
At least 12 Tory members of the British Parliament started consulting companies shortly before the election in July. The Guardian reports.
Even long before election day, it was clear that the result would be a disaster for the Conservative Party and many members risked losing their seats and fees.
MP Philip Davies is said to have set up a consultancy while betting £8,000 on losing his seat himself.
According to the newspaper, there is no indication that the 12 members broke any rules when they started their companies.

Pulls out of Tory election: "Crazy, bad and dangerous"
Six people have formally registered as candidates to become the next leader of Britain's Conservative Party, Sky News reports.
That's with hours left until registration closes this afternoon.
Kemi Badenoch became the sixth candidate during the night of Monday. Around the same time, it was announced that former Minister of the Interior Suella Braverman is unexpectedly withdrawing, and will not register any formal candidacy.
She believes that the internal criticism against her is too extensive for there to be any point in trying to win.
- I have been branded as crazy, bad and dangerous, she says in a statement.
