Violent protests in London after the knife attack
Violent protests have broken out in London, two days after the fatal knife attack on several children in Southport, Sky News reports.
In Downing Street, Bengals have thrown at the Prime Minister's residence. The protesters chant slogans such as "enough is enough", "save our children" and "stop the boats", targeting migrant boats. After the crime, incorrect information has been spread that the suspected 17-year-old is a Muslim asylum seeker.
Glass bottles have been thrown at police in riot gear, and at least one person has been arrested. It comes a day after 54 police officers were injured in violent riots in Southport, where police vehicles were also set on fire.
