Trump Hits Back: Musk Will Never Be President

Donald Trump is brushing off the growing criticism from Democrats about Elon Musk's influence over him, The Hill reports.

Several Democrats have started calling the billionaire "President Musk," which doesn't sit well with Trump.

- No, he will never be president. I'm sure, do you know why? He can't, he wasn't born in this country, he says.

Trump also praises Musk's efforts during his election campaign.

Republicans Praise Musk: "Our Prime Minister"

Republican congressmen are praising billionaire Elon Musk after his involvement in this week's budget dispute in the US, Axios reports.

- It feels like Elon Musk is our prime minister, says Texas congressman Tony Gonzales on the CBS program "Face the Nation". He adds that "many of us" have spoken to Musk this week.

Rand Paul of Kentucky has - with a twinkle in his eye, he adds - proposed Musk for speaker. Bill Hagerty of Tennessee thanks God that Musk bought Twitter, and says that the billionaire's influence over Trump - which worries many Democrats - "doesn't bother me in the least."

Earlier this week, Trump and Musk managed to stop a 1,500-page budget proposal that Republican Speaker Mike Johnson negotiated with Democrats.

After feverish work, a new proposal was voted through on Saturday. It was a tenth as far as it went, which Musk expressed satisfaction with.

"The Apprentice" Producer Gets Role in Britain

Television producer Mark Burnett, who was behind the reality show "The Apprentice," will be the new US envoy to the UK. Donald Trump announced this on Truth Social.

"With a distinguished career in television production and the business world, Mark brings a unique blend of diplomatic acumen and international recognition to this important role," he writes.

The US envoy to the UK, which is separate from the role of ambassador, will work to improve diplomatic relations.
