A UFO came close to triggering a Soviet nuclear attack in the 80s.
An American journalist claims this, citing secret documents.
Now top American politicians want a meeting with Russia about threats from space.
The Russians may be sitting on secret information about UFOs.
Republican politicians in the House of Representatives believe this and now want to hold discussions with Russian parliamentarians on the issue.
– We look forward to having a bilateral meeting with the Russian parliament soon, says Congresswoman Anna Paulina Luna to the TV channel NewsNation according to The Moscow Times.
Contact with the Russians
Luna, who chairs the House of Representatives group responsible for disclosing federal secrets, says she has “recently” been in contact with Russian politicians to ask if they have information to share about UFOs.

Luna’s staff has previously stated in Russian media that a parliamentary meeting between the countries was being planned and will take place on “neutral ground”. At that time, it was not clear what the meeting would be about.

It concerns an unpleasant incident in the middle of the Cold War that, according to journalist George Knapp, could have triggered a nuclear attack on the United States and plunged the world into a new world war.
The object appeared over the Soviet nuclear base one day in October 1982 and caused panic.
– The UFOs performed incredible maneuvers. They split up, merged again, appeared and disappeared, journalist George Knapp said in Congress, writes Fox News.
He stated that the event lasted for four hours. Then the unthinkable happened, claims Knapp, referring to secret Russian documents that he is said to have come across.

Suddenly, the codes were keyed in to fire the intercontinental ballistic missiles – which were aimed at the United States.
“Get ready to fire”
– It was something that indicated the right codes. The missiles were activated and were ready to fire and they could not stop them, Knapp said in the US Congress.
After a few terrifying moments, the control systems are said to have returned to normal and the suspected UFOs have disappeared.
Knapp claims that the Russian military could see no other explanation for the incident than a UFO attack.
“It’s shocking. We were seconds away from the start of World War III and it was UFOs that were behind it,” Knapp said.
Formal meetings at the parliamentary level between the United States and Russia ceased after the Russian invasion of Ukraine in February 2022.
