Senate blocks proposal to limit attacks
The US Senate has blocked a bill to limit President Donald Trump's ability to carry out further attacks on Venezuela, US media reports.
Democrats voted in favor of the bill and five Republicans had intended to break party lines, NPR reports. But after intense pressure from Trump, two of the Republicans changed their minds and the bill was rejected because the score was 50–50. The deciding vote then fell to Vice President JD Vance.
According to the bill, Trump would have needed congressional approval for further operations in Venezuela. Even if it had passed, it was unlikely to have become law, since Trump himself would have had to sign it, writes TT.

According to information to the Washington Post, Trump is upset that Machado received the peace prize that he himself so desperately wants. She has since said that she wants to share the prize with the American president.
