Singing, cheering and children's laughter filled the castle grounds as the king celebrated his 78th birthday.
Estelle, Oscar, Alexander, Gabriel and Julian were given time off from school to congratulate the king.
- It's nice to see the grandchildren gathered to celebrate the king. I really think he appreciates it, says court expert Sara Ericsson.

There was a full line-up at the Royal Palace today. The Queen, the Crown Princess Family and the Prince Family were there to congratulate the King on his birthday.
The very smallest members of the royal family stole the show time and time again. The new balcony is so large that all adults and children can fit, previously you had to squeeze in a window.
Prinsessan Estelle,12, Prince Oscar, 8, Prince Alexander, 8, Prince Gabriel, 6, and Prince Julian, 3, had been allowed to skip today's lessons to join the castle.
- Next year, all the grandchildren will probably be together because Princess Madeleine is planning a move to Sweden, says Sara Ericsson.

Made funny faces and waved
Little Prince Julian made funny faces at all the people gathered below. He helped as his older brothers happily waved down to Grandpa.
The bands of the navy and the army courted with music and the king received the high guard from Jämtland's Fältjägarkår. Then it was time for all the children to hand over flowers to the king.
It is a popular activity and a soldier from the life guard lent a helping hand when the very little ones needed some guidance towards the birthday child.
The king is celebrated with a private dinner tonight.
