Tensions rise in disputed waters: "Krutdurk"
Reporters from several media outlets were on a Philippine Coast Guard ship in the South China Sea that was attacked with water cannons by the Chinese Coast Guard.
Both China and the Philippines claim the Scarborough Reef and aggressive confrontations have become more common in the past year, the BBC writes.
"This is a sign of the growing escalation between Manila and Beijing that could become a major geopolitical powder keg," writes The Telegraph's Nicola Smith, who was on the ship.
No one on board was injured by the water cannons.

Veteran tipped to take over SNP: 'Will consider it carefully'
The veteran John Swinney is pointed out in several British media as the most likely candidate to take over the leadership of the Scottish Nationalist Party (SNP) and thus become the new Scottish Prime Minister.
60-year-old Swinney has been with the party since he was 15 years old and has, among other things, been deputy first minister under Nicola Sturgeon between 2014 and 2023, writes The Guardian.
To Sky News, Swinney says that he has not yet decided whether he intends to run, but that he will "consider it very carefully". Several heavy party representatives have already backed Swinney.
According to sources to several media outlets, Kate Forbes is also considering running. The Guardian writes that she will, however, only stand up if Swinney decides not to.
Last year, Forbes lost the battle for party leadership to Humza Yousaf, who announced his resignation on Monday.

EU reviews Meta - could face expensive fine for misinformation
The European Commission has launched an investigation into how Instagram and Facebook handle disinformation from Russia and other countries, reports Politico.
Meta is expected to be convicted with support in the new digital law DSA and thus receive a hefty fine, the newspaper writes. The law gives the commission the right to impose fines of up to 6 percent of a company's annual turnover.
- The Commission has created these funds to protect European citizens from targeted disinformation and manipulation (...) if we suspect that the rules are being violated - we act, says President Ursula von der Leyen.
