Over 100 pro-Palestinian protesters have been arrested on the Northeastern University campus in Boston, US media reports.
The university management contacted the police and stated that the protesters chanted anti-Semitic slogans.
"They crossed the line," writes Northeastern University on X.
Across the United States, students have occupied college campuses this past week to protest Israel's offensive in Gaza. Hundreds of people have been arrested, which has meant increased tensions between police and protesters.
In addition to the war in Gaza, and the US's support for Israel, the demonstrations have come to be about freedom of speech and the border between criticism of Israel and anti-Semitism.

Protest leaders wished the lives of "Zionists" - shut down
Columbia University in New York has suspended a student who expressed a wish for "Zionists to die", several media reports.
A video of student Khymani James comparing Zionists to Nazis, recorded in January, began circulating on social media this week.
- I have no problem, no problem at all, with saying that they deserve to die, James said.
Khymani James is considered to have been one of the leaders of the Gaza protests that brought Columbia into the world's attention. In a post on X, he apologizes and says it was something said in the heat of the moment.
Several of the protest groups at the university are condemning the comments, saying the student does not speak for them, according to the New York Times.
