Minister: Trump's approach to Ukraine is not black and white
Donald Trump's stance on supporting Ukraine in the war "is not as black and white" as some seem to think, Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski told Politico.
Although the Trump phalanx in the Republicans stopped the support package for Ukraine for a long time, Trump did not protest when the package was finally voted through, notes the minister.
- So I hope that candidate Trump has seen that this opposition to helping Ukraine is actually not popular in the United States, that it hurts his chances of being re-elected.
In addition, Trump was right when he urged the European NATO countries to invest more money in their defenses, Sikorski continues. He also recalls that Trump sent anti-tank robots to Ukraine before the war "when others did not".

The EU-China relationship
Wave of espionage charges: "The EU has lost patience with China"
In the past week, there has been a wave of arrests and prosecutions of suspected Chinese spies in Europe. They are clear signs that Europe is "breaking up" with China, writes the New York Times in a report.
Gradually, Europe has begun to realize that China is a bigger threat than Russia, and it has therefore abandoned a previously "naive" view of the giant in the East. That's what Ivana Karaskova, who until recently was the China advisor at the European Commission, says.
- Patience with China has run out, she says.
An example of a changed attitude towards China is Germany. Earlier this week, an assistant to AFD leader Maximilian Krah was arrested on suspicion of spying on behalf of China.
- If Russia is the storm, China is climate change, German intelligence chief Thomas Haldenweng said after Russia's invasion of Ukraine in 2022.
Italy's Giorgia Meloni stands in the EU elections
Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni will run in this summer's EU elections, reports Politico.
- I want to create a majority that brings the center-right together and sends the left into opposition in the EU as well, she says.
Her party Brothers of Italy is the country's largest and Meloni's trust figures are high. Her move is likely intended to increase support ahead of the election.
That she would actually take a seat in the EU Parliament is seen as unlikely, as it would mean that she would have to leave the post of prime minister.
