Five injured in sword attack in London – 36-year-old arrested
Five people have been injured in a suspected sword attack near the Hainault Tube station in East London, writes The Telegraph. Two of the injured people are said to be police officers.
A video circulating on social media shows a man in a yellow shirt moving in a terraced area with a sword-like object in his hand.
"We were alerted just before seven in the morning that a vehicle had driven into a house in the Thurlow Gardens area. There were reports that people had been stabbed," writes the London police on X.
A 36-year-old man has been arrested. At the moment, the police assess that he has acted alone and do not suspect that the attack was "terror-related".

Witnesses: "Screams were heard from the street"
The crime in London began with the suspected perpetrator driving his van into a house, British media reports. He then attacked several people with a sword.
- Loud screams were heard outside on the street Laing Close, a young guy stabbed another guy and then moved towards the station, says a witness to the media company LBC.
Another witness told Sky News that he saw a man in a yellow shirt jump over a fence in a residential area.
- I saw two police officers chasing after him and shouting for him to put down his weapon.
