Armenia: Can turn us from Russia after the betrayal
Armenia is working to strengthen ties with the EU and the West, and may be on the way to at least partially turning its back on Russia. This is stated by the country's Prime Minister Nikol Pasjinian for The Independent.
- Armenia is ready to stand as close to the EU as the EU considers possible, he says.
Armenia has previously been a close ally of Russia, but the relationship has become increasingly frosty over the past ten years, not least after Russia did not intervene when Azerbaijan attacked and retreated from the breakaway region of Nagorno-Karabakh last fall. Pasjinian now says it is considering withdrawing from the CTSO security agreement with Russia.
- If it continues in this way, if the political positions continue, then the limit will be crossed and participation in the CTSO will then become impossible in practice.

Azerbaijan: Peace with Armenia "closer than ever"
Armenia and Azerbaijan are "closer than ever" to reaching a peace agreement. This is according to the President of Azerbaijan, Ihlam Aliyev, according to AFP.
- We have a consensus on what a peace agreement would look like. We just need to discuss the details.
Both countries' foreign ministries said on Tuesday that they had sent experts to the border to agree on the exact draw, which has been disputed for decades.
According to the news agency, the announcement sparked protests in Armenia's capital Yerevan from people who believe their government is giving in to demands from Azerbaijan too easily.
