The Wagnerian leader becomes a statue in Saint Petersburg
On Saturday, many people went to Saint Petersburg in Russia to lay flowers at the new bronze statue representing the former Wagner conductor Yevgeny Prigozhin, reports AFP.
The statue has recently been inaugurated at the warlord's grave in the city. Prigozhin, who died in a plane crash last year, would have turned 63 on Saturday.
The infamous Wagner paramilitary group fought side by side with Russian forces in Ukraine until Prigozhin and the group rebelled against the Kremlin.

Zelenskyy: China is trying to sabotage the peace conference
China is doing everything in its power to try to sabotage the peace conference in Switzerland to be held in June. This is what Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyi says, who is present at a defense conference in Singapore.
- Unfortunately, China is working hard to prevent countries from coming to the conference, says Zelenskyy according to AFP.
China considers the conference to lack legitimacy as Russia has already declined to attend. Ukraine sees the conference as an opportunity to rally countries around the world behind its cause. According to Zelenskyj, over 100 countries and organizations have agreed.
