"Big victory" writes Trump after ambiguous HD verdict on immunity from prosecution
Donald Trump is celebrating the HD verdict which states that he is partially immune from prosecution, even though it is not entirely clear.
"A great victory for our constitution and democracy," writes the ex-president and presidential candidate in his social medium Truth Social directly.
His rival Joe Biden's campaign said in a statement that Trump "believes he is above the law and willing to do whatever it takes to win and hold on to power," according to AFP.
According to today's High Court ruling, ex-presidents have immunity from prosecution for actions in the exercise of their office, but not as private individuals, writes Reuters. The decision has great significance for the four legal cases hanging over Donald Trump and is expected to delay the trial on the storming of the Capitol.

HD: Trump is immune from prosecution – but only as president
Former presidents have immunity from prosecution for acts in the exercise of their office – not as private individuals. That is what the US Supreme Court decides in the first judgment since the 18th century to establish immunity from prosecution for a president, according to Reuters.
The decision has great significance for the four legal cases hanging over Donald Trump and is expected to delay the trial on the storming of the Capitol. At the center of it is that Trump tried to have the 2020 election results annulled, as well as his statements which, according to the indictment, led to the storming, writes NPR.
According to prosecutors, the Constitution is not intended to protect presidents from impeachment, and the legal cases have nothing to do with Trump's role as president. Trump's lawyers argue that everything he did as president was official.
Now HD is sending the case back to a lower court to determine whether he acted as president or not, according to the AP.
