UN soldiers withdraw from post in Lebanon

UN soldiers from the peacekeeping force in Lebanon, UNIFIL, withdraw from an observation post near the border village of Dhayra in the southern parts of the country. This is due to the risk of being hit by Israeli shelling, Unifil states according to Reuters.

On Tuesday, Israeli soldiers fired at the observation post, which is the basis for the decision.

UN human rights chief Volker Türk sharply criticizes Israel for the country's attacks on northern Gaza. In a statement, he says the situation is "incredibly" getting worse with each passing day.

On Friday, the Ministry of Health in Gaza stated that Israeli forces had stormed a hospital in northern Gaza, AFP wrote. The WHO states that it has lost contact with staff at the hospital.
