Internal IDF Report: Made "Every Mistake Possible"
The Israeli military IDF has made "every mistake possible" during the major offensive in Gaza that began in May. This is stated in a secret internal report that several Israeli media outlets cite.
The report states that the offensive has failed to achieve any of its goals, namely to wipe out Hamas and get the Israeli hostage released. It is also stated that the operation has led to the weakening of support from the international community.
The failed operation is also considered to show that the Israeli army is poorly prepared for the guerrilla warfare that soldiers must engage in in the cities of Gaza. This ultimately raises questions about the chances of an offensive to capture all of Gaza City succeeding.
Sources: Netanyahu Refused to Discuss Ceasefire Proposal
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu refused to even vote on the latest proposal for a ceasefire in Gaza when the security cabinet met on Monday night, sources told Haaretz.
According to the sources, Army Chief Eyal Zamir wanted to discuss and vote on the proposal. The far-right Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir also wanted to vote on it, but so that it could then be formally rejected.
However, Netanyahu reportedly flatly refused to discuss the proposal at all, arguing that it was not relevant. Instead, the meeting was largely about the operation to take control of Gaza City.
The proposal was drawn up by the mediator countries and constitutes a framework for a 60-day ceasefire in exchange for the release of hostages.
Major Research Group: Israel's War in Gaza Constitutes Genocide
Israel's warfare in Gaza following the terrorist attack on October 7, 2023 meets the legal criteria for genocide. This is stated by the organization IAGS. The group is described by Reuters as the world's leading research group for genocide studies.
The group also believes that Israel has committed "systematic and widespread war crimes and crimes against humanity".
The IAGS refers to figures from the UN that Israel's war has so far cost the lives of over 59,000 people. In addition, the group highlights information that the war has forced virtually all 2.3 million Palestinians in the Gaza Strip to flee.
"The consequences of the crimes are that entire families and several generations of Palestinians have been destroyed," it says.
In a resolution, the group immediately calls on Israel to cease its actions that violate international law and for the outside world to act to bring the perpetrators to justice.

NYT editor-in-chief's residence vandalized with red paint
The New York Times editor-in-chief's residence has been vandalized, The Hill reports.
The gate to Joseph Kahn's Manhattan apartment had been sprayed with red paint and in black text someone had written "Joe Kahn lies Gaza dies". NY Times spokesperson Charlie Stadtlander confirms the action and writes in a statement that it is okay for people to not like their reporting.
"But vandalizing and targeting individuals and their families is crossing a line and we will work with authorities to address this," the comment continues.
A month ago, the newspaper's Manhattan office was also vandalized when someone painted the text: "NYT lies Gaza dies".
