Deposed Shah's Son: Regime Will Fall

The Islamic regime in Iran will lose power. The question is not if, but when, claims the son of Iran's former shah.

The son of the deposed shah, Reza Pahlavi, predicted at a press conference in Washington DC on Friday that Iran's Islamic Republic will fall and that he will then "return to Iran" and is ready to lead a transitional government.

Pahlavi said the outside world should support the regime protests, and focus efforts on Iran's powerful Revolutionary Guard to achieve change.

The Shah of Iran was overthrown in 1979 after ruling the country with a brutal iron fist. Pahlavi has lived in exile in the United States since then.
